I have an Asus W2 laptop with a Mat****a DVD Rom. The exact model number is MAT****A DVD-RAM UJ-845S.

Unfortuanatly, I have only 1 chance to change the current region to watch a DVD.

When trying to load a DVD from the player it keeps telling me that there is an error to load it due to DVD Region.

I downloaded the DVD Region Free, but with no success...

Is there any method how to RESET the number of Region changes?

Reseting is illegal as far as I know. Or at least very risky ... you might damage your drive doing it.

Your only choice is try and find a software that will work with your drive.

Give Any DVD a try: http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html

What is the problem with DVD Region free? I'd try resolving that way, rather than trying to change the number of times on the drive. The only real way to do the drive would be to attempt to find region free firmware and flash the drive. While this is doable, it's risky (you could end up with a drive that doesn't work at all) and given the number of software solutions available now, that is a much better approach.

Only options are software (AnyDVD is very widely used and compatible, did you try it?), or finding an RPC1 firmware (all region), but that will void your warranty because you would be flashing a none supported firmware, and is risky.

Flashing a firmare is risky, but only mildly so.

Your best bet is to find a modded firmware. You should be able to find your model here.

Yeah I tried AnyDvd but still no success...

Yeah I think the last resort is to flash a firmware, although I don't like to do that since I have to experience on such a particular job...

RogueMonk, I did find my model on the link you submitted. Mine is a Mat****a...

    Any further options...

    Thanks for your help....
