I don't use my DVD drive at all (in fact the last time I've used it was when I installed my main software for my laptop). I have a Sony VAIO CR series notebook, and today I noticed that my DVD drive wasn't in the "My Computer" section. I went to properties, and it says my driver is missing or corrupted. What's going on?

I know I don't use my DVD drive that often, but I don't like the fact that its unusable in a case when I really do need it.

I tried uninstalling the drive and letting windows installing it automatically, but it just came back to the same state as it was before. The drive is a Pioneer DVR-K17. What to do???

Actually, I just fixed it with a simple system restore. Apparently uninstalling the Roxio CD Maker caused my drive to get messed up...
