Erm......i have a little of a problem with my laptops DVD ram drive. It's like when i insert a dvd into the drive, the spinning sound is weak and no cd or dvd can be read but windows say that there is no problem with the drive. This happens after i eject a cd out of the noisy drive immediately after the cd spins too fast. I hope that someone can give me assistance regarding this issue. I'm using an Acer Aspire 5560 notebook with a slot dvd drive. If the dvd drive is damaged by chance is it possible that i can replace it without buying an external one ?? Thanks in advance

In my experience that usually means that the drive is failing. If it is simply not reading any disc at all, that may be the case. Usually windows will only flag a device if there is a resource problem, or if the drivers can't talk to the device for any reason. You can try removing the drive and reseating it. You might want to also reading a disc from safe mode. You didn't say what model you have, but I'm sure the drive can be replaced, I have not seen too many laptops where the drive was not replaceable.
