I burnt an .iso image of win7 today on my HP Pavillion DV2500t notebook using Roxio. However, after burning the disc, I inserted it back into the ROM and it doesn't read the disc.

What exactly happens is that it will just keep making those clicking sounds for a while and then stop. If i open My Computer, it will just hang, until i eject the disc or if i end task and restart the windows explorer.

I tried inserting other DVD+Rs that i had burnt before using the same computer, which used to work fine the last time. This time however, the DVD+RW ROM could not read it and the same problem occured as the one with Win7 disc.

I tried using my music cds that i have, and they could be read just fine. i also have some dvds that i bought from video stores, and they can easily be read just fine too. and my dvd-rw rom can burn cd/dvds too. the only, and the only problem is that it does not read dvd+r of any kind.

I have tried deleting the upper filter and lower filter method. I have also tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the drivers for my dvd-rw rom, which is TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-L632M ATA. But it didn't solve the problem.

Since I have already done a clean install, my HP recovery manager is gone, though I still have the Recovery Partition, so I can't do system recovery. I also have recovery discs that i burnt, but I can't use them as my dvd rom can't read dvd+r.

SO, after exhausting all my options, I'm finally writing my problem here and I ask all of you to please help me with this! Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have never heard of that particular problem before (Reads/Writes to everything but DVD+R's).

If you truly believe that is the only problem why not burn your Windows 7 ISO to a DVD-R and try it? Nothing says that you have to use a DVD+R, maybe the new install will fix your problem. Apparently you can't perform a System Restore to a time before you had this problem, is that so?
