    it is possible.
    The only problem is that the bezel on the dvr-k06 may not match the contours of your hp. Its not really an issue, but it may be if you care about aesthetics alot.

    I have a dvr-k06, and it is a great drive.

    What do you mean by the bezel? Do you mean the color of the dvr-k06 would not match the HP color? If that is the case, it is not an issue with me because color doesn't matter, besides the drive is on the side where no one can see. Thanks.

    No the faceplate at the front of the drive !! That is the drive bezel.

    Oh I see, thanks a lot. Do you possibly know of any other good slot load dvd drives that I could possibly install in my hp laptop?

    Just make sure your notebook has the IDE Slim-Line connector and not the SATA one.
