Hi. I have been a member of NBR for a while and it has been my understanding that DirectX10 games can only run (this is strictly Nvidia graphics cards that I'm talking about) on the 8000 series cards. I have a friend who claims that they can run off the 7000 series cards too but just with as good of gameplay. What?? Will someone please clear this question up for me? I'm not interested in whether or not the games will have smooth framerates with a 7000 series card just whether or not it is physically POSSIBLE. Thanks for any help you can give.

7000 cards will not run DX10, with that said games that have DX10 will also support DX9 so you can still play those games just less eye candy.

Some games are DX10 only though correct?? I know a lot are DX10/DX9 because a lot of people don't have 8000 series cards (or the ATI equivalent)...

Okay I saw on a bestbuy ad a Desktop Foxconn 7900GTX that could run both DX10 and Dx9. And has anyone reallized the 9 series GPU's are coming out before the actually DX10 games? What happened to DX10 capablility in the 8 series GPU' where they not needed?

Really then that was just a misprint or a way of selling something that won't work in the Future with actually DX10 Games.

8000 series video cards will still run DX10 games when theres only DX10 games out but by that time they'll be really slow. So we're talking 3-4 years in the future.
