Just a few hours ago, I noticed a small dark spot on my laptop's screen. :(
I had taken it to school in my backpack today and I suppose there was pressure on the screen to cause that? I kept it and the AC adapter in a separate compartment away from my books so maybe the adapter did it?

I was asking for it by being cheap and not carrying it in a separate carrying case. Need to get one now to prevent any more spots. Though I did this several times before and it never happened. :(

What is a dark spot exactly, I hear its a bunch of dead subpixels and it is caused by pressure on the screen?

Thankfully, its barely noticeable viewed head-on but extremely noticeable when I view the screen from an above angle (which nobody does).

sounds like dead or stuck pixels, and yes pressure can cause those things

.... a picture would be more useful for us to identify the problem

hmm, it looks like your screens backlight, is a row of white LEDs?

Anyways.. it dosnt seem to be a naturaly occuring defect for sure. dead pixles dont look like that, and its not a backlight problem. If you have a thumbstick, its possible it poked the screen, however I havnt seen a stick in a loong time. Id try some cleaners and make sure its not just dirt. if you cant determin what on the bottom part of the laptop could make such a mark, maybe some big piece of dirt is stuck between the lcd and light spreader.

Yes, it is a Vaio TZ, which uses an LED-backlit screen. I have tried wiping it off, with no use.

One issue that other TZ owners have complained of is that when the lid is shut, the keyboard will leave imprints on the screen which has happened to mine but thankfully rub off. There is no trackpoint on this model, only a touchpad.

I only noticed this dark spot after taking it out of my backpack, something must have pressed against the lid to cause it. Though I have carried it in my backpack several times before the exact same way with no issues.

Do you need any more pictures for help?
