I want to move to a single fast 2nd drive for games and the like.

I have decided to go with the samsung or WD drive.

The price is £48 for the samsung and £54 for the WD.

WD is more commonly used and you can find a lot more feedbacks for it. I would recommend that.

Use newegg's product pages. Although some feedbacks are rubbish, some are really useful written by computer experts.

WD black. That's for sure. I have WD black 320GB for years and still works like a charm.

Samsung is less popular product and just recently acquired by Seagate, so the warranty might be slightly difficult; Samsung offered itself for sale, that means the company was not making money. If Samsung quality is so good, they wouldn't have sold the company.

Just because they aren't profitable, doesn't mean they don't make good products. The Samsung MP4 series is still incredibly fast .
