Hi guys, I am looking for a new Notebook and want the N76VZ from Asus, which has a Full-HD-Screen.
Now I have read that u cant deactivate the interpolation, so when u decide to play a game in 1600x900 then u will have a blurry screen, because it is stretched to fill the whole screen.
But I have a 3 year old notebook, where u can change this setting in the driver-options from nVidia and deactivate this stretching, so when u play a game in a less resolution, u will get a black framing but a sharp and smaller screen from your game.
So is it possible to change the interpolation in the drivers? I cant believe that my old notebook can do this but the new ones dont.
Thx =)

It's called scaling and is present in AMD and nVidia drivers. You can have it stretch to fit, maintain aspect (stretch until it reaches horizontal or vertical edge), or normal.

OK, thanks.
So the review I read was wrong or the "experts" didn't dig deep enough into the display-drivers to find that option ... -
Well, let me double check. As far as I know it's been there. For machines with nVidia Optimus or AMD Enduro you likely will have to use the Intel drivers and control panel because the video output routes through that GPU. It is likely that they disabled it for whatever reason though.
edit: Here's nVidia's on my desktop (click image to enlarge to full size) I believe Radeon's are similar:
Here's Intel's (use for Optimus):
