When i start it up i get a long beep, slight pause, beep, beep. Done some searching on the net and it seems graphics based. Could it be the screen? Or the wire? Or is it definatly the graphics chipset and therfore i need a new main board? Thanks, Ben

Doesnt even attempt to start up. So yeah thats what i thought, i didnt want to buy a new board and it not be the problem. The board in it is a M611 main board MBX-176. Ive seem a M612 main board with a higher memory graphics card in it. Does anyone know if itll work? If not what other options have i got? Obviously, id rather upgrade than just replace. Thanks, Ben

Ignore that last post. I didnt realise my laptop had a 256mb card already. The new laptops have the 9600M GT graphics card with 512MB dedicated VRAM, can i get that for my laptop? Im assuming not, but if i can it would be good lol.

As long as the boards are from the same laptop model they might work but i'm not a 100% sure... maybe someone with a similar vaio might be able to say.. but my gut feeling tells me no it won't work.. you might be stuck with an older motherboard..
