I have an Asus U45JC-A1 Laptop and had it for a few years already.

    http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-U45JC-A1-14-Inch-Light-Laptop/dp/B003WIYMA6

    Its specs are

    Windows 7 64 Bit
    I3 M370 Processor @ 2400ghz
    4gb ram
    5400rpm

It seems to have 298gb total on my hard drive when i check my computer but i almost never have more than 50gb used up so i always have over 200 gb that is free. I don't have much stuff on the laptop. The last year or so, the laptop has gotten extremely slow. It would also freeze a lot and i would need to press control, alt, delete to unfreeze it and even when I do this, the laptop freezes a good bit. I read how getting an SSD would make your laptop much much faster.

I plan to be using it to play poker. I used to play on laptop very sparingly back then because i would usually play on my faster desktop. At that time, i rarely play that many tables. Can someone recommend me what SSD to get?

Can someone recommend me an SSD drive for this laptop through amazon? Would 120gb be enough or should 250gb be better? I want a laptop where i don't need to upgrade it ever so it makes sense to get the 250gb vs 120gb right? Im most likely going to get the samsung 840 but should i go get the 840 pro instead?

If the laptop is freezing and encountering other such issues, an SSD won't solve your problems. An SSD makes general tasks faster, especially launching programs, but it's not going to fix the software issues that it sounds like your laptop is encountering.

Instead, I would first suggest that you go through a clean-install of W7. I think you'd be surprised how much smoother your machine runs after that. If you still want to buy an SSD (rather than saving up for your next laptop), I would suggest looking at some quality 128GB SSDs that you can pick up for around $100 (ie Crucial M4, Samsung 840 Pro, etc). A 256GB SSD may give you some unnoticeably small performance gains, but as you've said you only use about 50GB total, it would be a complete waste of money for your use.

Hi. Well the thing is i also need an SSD b/c for my poker, i use programs that are necessary to have SSD otherwise it would be too slow.

I mention that i only use 50gb total but i would say after i install windows 7 again with the ssd, wouldn't 40gb be already used up? I will be installing microsoft office and then my other programs. But if i ever use too much gb on my laptop and get to 100gb, then wouldn't getting the 250gb be more safe than the 120gb?
