    A friend with a Dell Latitude E6510 would like to upgrade his display from 1366x768 to 1920x1080. After much research, I have found that the LG LP516WF1 (TP)(B1) - the model with the 30-pin connector - is compatible with the Dell Latitude E6510 and Dell Precision M4500. After disassembling his display assembly, I have determined that his display cable has 30 pins and 30 internal wires (physical wires, not copper traces). The installed 1366x768 display was an LG LP156WH2 (TP)(B1) which had the connector in the same place in accordance with photos of the 1920x1080 LG LP156WF1 (TP)(B1).

    He prefers not to spend any more than $80 on the replacement, and likes the idea of the $58 pricetag here on laptopscreen.com: LP156WF1(TP)(B1) replacement Laptop LCD Screen $58.99 Brand-new screens (never used).

    However, I've heard of issues that have risen for those who have ordered from laptopscreen.com. Is it, in general, a good idea to buy from this site? Note: Receiving a compatible-but-different LCD is not an issue, as long as it is compatible and 1920x1080.

    Main issues most users on here are having with LaptopScreen.com is the substitutions to compatible screens.
    LaptopScreen.com guarantees to provide a working panel for your application, however they do not stock 100's of models which would all work in place of each other. In most cases there are typically 2-3 manufacturers present.

    If you have no problem with a working 1920x1080 panel of standard quality, from one of the mainstream manufacturers, you should be OK placing the order with-out any extra actions.

    If you have a request for a specific model, best is to call the 1(855)630 1111, quote the model you are looking for: LP156WF1(TP)(B1);
    and ask them to advise what models do they have in-stock right now that will be compatible with that model (could also have exact).

    You can always PM me as well, but for an immediate answer it's best to call the phone number.

    The phones are answered on-location in the warehouse, so anybody you speak to there will have the physical ability to check real stock for you.

    Regards,
