    Hey Everyone,
Was hoping to get some answers concerning a Dell lcd, the lcd lights up but has just a thin line across the top of the screen. I've replaced the video card, Inverter, and checked the connections but still get the same thing. The external monitor connection works fine, so I figured it was the inverter but it didn't help, unless the used inverter is bad...anyone have a suggestion? Thanks in advance for any help

I would clean the connections with rubbing alcohol, and then wait for them to dry. Then reconnect, this time use a small piece of tape over the connection, so that the wires do not disconnect.
The problem could be with the lcd, but I would try cleaning the connection first.
If your laptop is under warranty, than heck replace the lcd and get a new one. If not, you will have to live with the line, or spend more to fix it.

Sometimes a small amount of pressure at the ends of the line, will cause the row of pixels to reappear.
