I'm very new to laptops and would like to know if my computer has the right drivers. Because in the "Device Manager" under monitors it says that it is a Generic PnP Monitor. Is this normal and the way it should be? Or do I have missing updated driver?
The reason I'm askng is because I had to reformat after a partitioning that went wrong.
    Thank you

The question is what you have under Display Adapters.

    Generic PnP is normal.

If you want to know what monitor you actually have, the only way to find out, is to take the lcd cover off, and remove the lcd panel. There will be a sticker on the back of the screen, which states the make, model, part number, serial number, and everything else about the screen.

On my gf`s 1501 it says the same thing. Maybe Everest can help or better display drivers. I never bothered to check but I`m pretty sure it`s an LG.
