Ok, so I've got the mod-bug crawling through me and I want to know what everyone thinks I should upgrade on my media center laptop next.
Here's what I've got:
Dell 1520 w/ 2.2ghz core 2 duo processor
4gb ram
the 1680x1050 screen (although my laptop is pretty much permanently hooked up to a tv screen)
dual layer dvd burner
external tv tuner (angel something or other. it came with my e1505)
Anyway, it's all hooked up to a stereo system and a large tv (like stated above)
I just ordered a 7200 rpm 250gb hdd to replace my 5400 rpm internal. I have 2 external drives for tv storage.
The only thing I can really think of to upgrade is my video card (i have the 128mb geforce 8400m gs. I can't really justify that though, since i don't ever play games.
Oh yea, I have an expresscard sound card, so i'm all set in the audio department.
Are there any other hardware upgrades anyone can think of, other than upping my graphics to the 256mb 8600 gt?
EDIT: Incase someone was gonna suggest a bluray burner, that's a bit outta my price range right now, not to mention i have absolutely no need for that. i prefer to download all of my movies rather than have discs.

I thought laptop graphics cards couldn't be upgraded?
You could always wait and get a new wireless N card or SSD. -
You've already upgraded every upgradeable component.
You can upgrade the T7500 (?) to a X9000/X7900/T9300/T8300.
Wireless-N as mentioned above ^.
You could try out a 4GB RAM module from G.Skill.
SSDs and BD-burners have similar costs.
Spay-Paint the notebook !! -
N is probably where I'd get the best boost from, only problem is that my house is hard wired. The hub that connects the hard-wired rooms is some IBM proprietary device that is installed in the telephone/internet/security system console.
N would be nice, but i wouldn't get a noticeable upgrade, since traffic between the hard-wired computers is already bottle-necked at a super fast 10mbits a second.
I don't think it would be worth it to buy an N router and card for my pc. I have 1 router for the house, and 2 routers in my room (don't ask). i'd end up having to buy an n router, laptop card, and a gigabit switch or two, to harness the full power of N, and that's just in my bedroom for my 2 laptops and server. that won't even effect data transfer around the rest of the house. -
You didn't left anything else to do in this laptop
How about a case mod? or a paint job? -
