Dell Announces new 5K monitor. Although I like the idea of monitors going beyond beyond the future 4k standard, too bad it requires 2 DP ports.![]()

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
That's actually not a horrible 2500 dollar price tag, I remember when 30" monitors with 2560x1600 were 3000 when they first came out.

Slow down. 5K? Let's get caught up to 3k/4k first please. I'd much rather see ultra low power LCD's over ultra high res.

If anyone can lend me one of these for testing I've got two DisplayPort ports on my HP EliteBook 725 G2 HP 2013 UltraSlim dock that I could try out. I won't hold my breath.

This monitor loolks great but really, 3K/4K need to become standard before they try to push this... Its absurd that it needs 2 Displayports to run already... Hopefully with future port revisions, this becomes a non - issue and only 1 port is needed...
-
I think the primary reason for two dp is that it's technically two monitors fused together.

$10 at Amazon for the standard 6ft cable. Is that considered expensive?alexhawker likes this. -

5K, damn... By the time I upgrade to Full HD there are gonna be 10K displays...

No problem, if you can do work with the older tech at a livable level, then it doesn't matter what new tech comes out.
