I have a Dell C600 where the screen goes out sometimes. Not all the time, but occasionally. The computer still runs but LCD goes blank. Attaching an external monitor has no issues. Rebooting it causes screen to come back on just fine.

    What's going on here ??

    Hi,

My name is Todd and I'm with Dell's online outreach program. It could be that your LCD is failing, or it could be that the cable connecting your video card to the display is / has worked loose.

I would recommend going to our support site, http://Support.Dell.com and click on the link to access the user manauls and check the one for that system. If you check on the instructions for replacing the LCD it will show you how to access that cable. I would try checking the connections on that cable as your first step.

Let me know if that helps. I'll stop back to see if there is anything else I can do to be of help.

    Thank you,

    Todd
