    Have you flashed your laptop to the latest BIOS and updated to the latest chipset drivers?

    Most likely won't work if you actually have the 940 and not the 943. Have only heard of 940s failing to take dual-cores. You can always try, though, maybe you'll be the lucky one?

    EDIT: I'm actually not quite sure I understand this thread... are you asking if this will work, or claiming that it has already worked?

    mmmm, not work all is aparently Ok, processor is hot, disk drive, all, but the LCD not turn on.....

    If it posts with the old CPU that means it is not compatible. Did you follow the steps listed above?

    and the chipset is i943/940gml

    1.67 dual core
    1.83 dual core
    2.0 dual core
    2.0 core 2 duo.

    The 940gml can only upgraded to a Celeron or a Core Solo. Several members in the forum have tried and failed. If you search the forum you'll find quite a few threads about this topic.

    Why don't you read the name of the chipset directly from it? You've open the laptop to test the T2060 so you can see the chipset. If it is the 940gml you'll know that it can't be upgraded, but if its the 943gml that you can upgrade all the way to a Core 2 Duo T7600 :).
