Friends, I have a 4 year old Vista install (upgraded from XP) on my D610 (integrated intel graphics). I want to do a clean install but I want to rule out HD problems first. IT is IDE\Disk Hitachi_HTS721080G9AT00 80 GIG 7200 RPM.
I have run error checking from windows vista GUI (auto fix file system errors) and 0 bad sectors were found see attached. Is it a good idea to run the manu. Drive fitness utility also?
Also I have 1 license for win 7 but am using it on another machine (that I also use regularly). Can I install win 7 on this my D610 also with the same key?
    Thanks a lot Josea

No harm from running the fitness diagnostic utility! I would also look into the S.M.A.R.T. health status (you can use HDTune or Everest for that) - it will give you a good idea about it's state.

No, you can't use the same Windows key on 2 different PCs. At least not legally.

Thankg Gracy123. I have it installed, and have read the documentation. Since the OS is still installed and want to still use the computer I assume I do not want to benchmark. I have read the documentation but am not sure what to do. So far I have this:

    Should I run report next?
Thanks in advance for any replies

If you are talking about the Fitness test - it is non-destructive! It will not touch your data! It just performs tests on your HDD and reads out SMART.
HDTune is of course also non-destructive, so you can run both.

According to Everest everything looks fine. It wouldn't harm to run the Fitness utility as well as Benchmark with HDTune though if you want to be sure.

Actually I meant report wizard from Everest, sorry I did not make that clear. Anyway I ran it from the systray icon.. report wizard - hardware related and wow that created a long report. I just read through it and do not see any issues. Thanks for checking the log I posted.
Gotta go now, my ASUS just locked up running Mafia II in STEAM
(Guess I should have bought sony EC instead of the ASUS). :(
