My hubby's Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop just fried the hd and I am about to order him a replacement. Can anyone tell me if this one will work? I've never ordered a hard drive for a laptop and am unsure on all the technicalities of it, although all the info *seems* to match what I'm pulling out of his machine. I'm upgrading a bit though. His was an IBM Travelstar 30 GB 4200 rpm, I found a Hitachi Travelstar 60 GB 5400 rpm for a great price here:

Thanks for any info. Oh, and btw, did Hitachi buy out the drives subsidiary of IBM or something?

It will work, but it is cheaper here. Yes Hitachi did buy IBM's disk drive division.

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to check before ordering, but it's good to be forewarned. I'll use newegg.com.
