This will be my first screen replacement ever! I am hoping to upgrade the screen to a AUO B156HTN05.2 referenced from the thread linked below. The screen is a 120hz TN, and is G-Sync enabled!! It would be so cool if I could get this in my new laptop!

I am wondering if this panel is the same one, or where would be the best place to buy a AUO B156HTN05.2?

The Inspirion has a 30pin eDP but I am unsure of what type. I do not know if this screen will work with the Inspirion layout either. Are any resources out there that could help point me in the right direction?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

@Paps82 the panel in this Amazon link you provided is described as "compatible" but there is one review that said it is 120Hz.

Above eBay seller is selling the AUO B156HTN05.2 as an exact part number (p/n) replacement, not as a "compatible part number." For $30 extra I would personally go for the eBay seller and IIRC some people from this forum have bought from this seller and received this exact screen. Be wary when you are buying something that is only described as strictly "compatible" or doesn't explicitly state that it is an exact p/n replacement because there is no way to know what you will end up with.
By the way, you are not going to have G-Sync on your Inspiron 15 7000 series notebook. G-Sync requires several specific things to function. While you are buying a G-Sync certified panel, you are missing the signed G-Sync "cookie" for your dGPU and panel p/n in the BIOS, do not have a G-Sync compatible dGPU (correct PCI ID and vBIOS) matching the "cookie," and do not have a direct connect between the dGPU eDP output to the panel.
Laptops that are sold with G-Sync are advertised as such, including ones with muxed dGPU and iGPU graphics (like Clevo P6xxHP6-G, P6xxHS-G) or ones with no iGPU at all (Clevo P75xDM2-G, P775DMx-G, P870KMx-G...). While it is possible to buy a non-G-Sync version, it will be sold without a G-Sync certified panel and GPU, thus making upgrading to the G-Sync version later more expensive.Last edited: Mar 17, 2017 -
I'm also thinking about making this screen upgrade. I have the GL502VY with the 980m which comes with g-sync. It is a 60Hz panel. If I get the aforementioned 120Hz screen, will g-sync work for me without any further tweaking?
