    Hi all,

Im new here, im getting this laptop off my brother, im used to system building (have been building my own PC's since i was a kid, but im new to modding laptops!)

I would like to upgrade a couple bits in this laptop,

would like to change the std HDD from the 60gb 5400rpm to a 120gb 7200 (Seagate ST3120823AS) can anyone see an issue with this? does the board support such a move? (im guessing is like a desktop in this respect and this drive will work just fine)

also would like to change the processor at some point from the current TURION 64 MK36 to a MK66 X2, will the bios take this? or will i need to source an upgrade? or otherwise do i need to go for a lower spec X2 processor?

    any replys helpfull!

    Cheers

What is the turion MK66 X2?

Anyway, you can most definitely upgrade to a faster hard drive w/o any usses. About the processor, you can put in there any socket S1 processors, including the high end Turion X2 processors (up to the TL-66). Just make sure you update your BIOS.

Thanks I thought that might be the case, will get the drive ordered shortly then,

as for the processor actually meant the Turion 64 X2 TL-64, couldn't have got that more wrong really..... oh well! im more used to CPU's like the FX55 and 57 (my current and future processors! if i don't go to the Intel quad! but that will require some upgrading!)

    Thanks for the help!

    Cheers
