    Hi All,

    I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 which is about 7 years old and I'm looking for an SSD for it. I'd like a 120 GB SSD and spend about $150, but will (grudgingly) go as high as $175.

    I've been researching SSDs and it seems that I have to have a certain type which will work with my older chipset/bios, but I'm a bit confused as to what I should be looking for. One post said to only get an Intel SSD to be sure it works with an older Intel processor.

    Can anyone please give me some advice on this what I should be looking for and what would give me the best bang for my buck.

    Any 2.5" 9.5mm SATA SSD will work with your system. Intel/Samsung are highly recommended for reliability/speed.

    Tsunade_Hime, thank you for the reply. Isn't there something about SATA III drives not being supported by older laptops?

    No SATA 3 SSDs will just operate at their rated SATA 2 speeds.
