    Hi guys,

I broke my Dell 9400 (I think in america its known as a E1705)

I ordered a Dell Inspiron 1720 to replace it.

I ended up ordering one with a T2310 CPU in it.

My old 9400 had a T2400 CPU in it.

I've been told that the T2400 is much much faster then the T2310 CPU.

What I'm wondering is if its possible to swap the T2310 for the T2400?

Would the bios be able to recognize the T2400?

    Thanks guys!

No, you won't be able to swap processors because the T2310 is a Socket P processor, whereas the T2400 is a Socket M. However, I really don't think there'll be a major difference in terms of performance.

    ahh,

i was told by someone else that:

it is possible to since both CPUs are 478-pin FCPGA processors and that means the Dell motherboards have ZIF sockets to allow swapping CPUs
