That ram should work. All the tech specs are identical to the link that Dell provided.

You need standard 200 pin DDR2 SODIMM. The Kingston RAM should work fine. Crucial is another source. Or work through the RAM Deals thread, starting at the end.

Yes, the memory you chooe will work with your system.
Your laptop has a maximum memory capacity of 2Gb.
however Dell doesnt even know what ram your system runs. The Inspiron 6000 runs Pc4200 at 533Mhz, not Pc5300 at 667Mhz.
You can install pc5300 into your laptop, but it will automatically clock down to 533mHz.
Also do not buy memory from dell, you can get 2gb pc4200/pc5300 memory for much less than $70.
if you are in the us, I recommend buying from zipzoomfly, newegg, tiger direct
If in canada: ncix, tiger direct.
You should be able to get 2 x 1Gb of memory for about $30
Check the buy and sell section for cheap memory sales.

I live in Germany and the new Kingston 2 x 1 GB module kit costs around 26 Euros (40 dollers) in ebay here. So i will go for it....thanks
