When im plugged in with the AC Power Cord, everything is fine. When I plug it out and the battery is still in with 100% charge, the screen goes dark/black and I cant get it to come back (either by pressing buttons, pressing power button once, reinserting power cable). The battery works as long as I start in it though. I dont think I had this problem before (the laptop is fairly new, 2-3 weeks). I have the bigger battery (named DELLRD8506) and it should not be affected by the recall.

EDIT: Mods, feel free to move this to the dell section.

well if you move your notebook around a lot especially with the battery out or taking the battery in and out that would happen

I rarely take the battery out (umm like twice since I got it?). And yeah, this thing is new and shouldn't already be busted up... I brought it with me to class like 5 times, each time taking good care of it =P. Thanks for your help, Ill probably call Dell or get this thing checked out somewhere.

sorry that is the best information I can give you. I have had mine for about three months and have no problems. I would actually press F8 while booting and do a last good known configuration try that and tell me what happens that may help

I did last known configuration while trying to fix my sound problem, and I did a system restore as well...neither worked.

EDIT: I just called Dell (again). They told me that pulling the power cable while the computer is running is bad and i should never do that again (only if the computer is off). Truth or BS to get me off their backs (and what to do...just return/exchange it?)? If I exchange it, do you think I can keep my files and settings (ie keep my harddrive or transfer certain files).

EDIT2: Okay I ordered the exchange, I'll be able to transfer my files cause I get the new one first then mail the old one back. Thanks again for your help.
