Are the motherboards from an earlier Inspiron 8600 (parallel/Serial ports) the same as a newer 8600c (no parallel or serial ports)?

In other words, can I transfer the following from a 8600c to an earlier 8600 motherboard; basically transfer everything?

Do I need to modify the newer 8600c to accommodate the older 8600 board?

    Intel Pen M Processor 755 2.0GHz, 1GB ddr 333MHz 2 dimms, 128mb ATI Mo Ra 9600 Pro, etc.

    Thank You!!

I really doubt it. notebook mother boards are rarely inter-changable even from the same manufacturer and never between manufacturers. There is just usually too much change in the mechanical design between each modle or sub-model.
