    Hi all,

My graphics card just has given up. It's dead. I'm out of waranty on my laptop and dell is charging for over € 488 to replace it. It's a Nvidia Go 7900 GS 256 MB.

I was wondering if somebody knew someplace where I can find/buy a 100% working card .

This would be very apreciated !

It is possible to replace but surely easier and possibly cheaper to buy a new notebook.

You can find that card on ebay. It should be the 7900 GS for Inspiron 9400/E1705, and the 79x0 GTX from XPS 1710 could work too, but you have to upgrade the PSU.

ebay is probably your only alternative. I doubt any online stores other than dell will sell their graphics cards.

It would be best to get the same model gpu, so you know that it will simply fit in and work.

X2P yes I understand, but I don't think it's cheaper since when I bought this laptop (only 2 year ago) it was pretty expensive. ( 1800-1900 € ;) If I want the same good specs (I need them, not for gaming but prof. use) it still will be a hefty thing ... ++ Ebay really is running low on those cards it seems.
