I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 and it's AC adapter (purchased through Dell also) is starting to go on me. Basically, on the connector (to the laptop), you have the hard plastic head and from that, the wire comes out. The first centimeter of wire coming out is covered with a lot of plastic (to make it less bendable there). This is where a wire break is beginning to form (I can move the wire there and get it to stop working or work easily).

Does anyone know if I can purchase one of these connectors on the net? I can replace it myself, I just need to know how to get my hands on another one. I don't want to buy a whole other adapter, since this one still works. I'd much rather pay a few dollars for the head, than another 30-50+ for a whole adapter

If you guys don't know, do you know of any other forum that may? Thanks,

    Merowe

If its still under warranty, check with Dell.

eBay is probrably your best bet to find such a part

    Good luck!

You can probably send it back or even buy an entire new unit off eBay for $10 or less.
