There's the photo i took of my computer about a minute ago.
As you can see, the bottom half is just completely a;ldkjfa;lsdioaj;lsdj, for lack of a better word. I don't know what to do? I took it to the local computer shop and they said it might be due to a "loose connection."

Is there any way I can pry open/dissect my screen in order to connect this "loose connection?"

    Any other advice?

I'm a college student, and sending it to Dell will be my last resort because:

a.) Dell support isn't the best in the world.
b.) i need my computer on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, it probably is either a loose or fault LCD connection. Best to send it to Dell, fixing it yourself may make it worse.

If its under warranty send it to dell or at least call them and see what they can do for you.

If its not and you are somewhat mechanically inclined then yeah it is pretty easy to take the face off the screen and reseat the lcd connection. With a search you should be able to find disassembly instructions.

Uh oh. I had the same issue with my 1-week old 1505 in April 2006. I was just getting ready to order another one (finally) but now I'm wondering if I should go with the HP I've been looking at. I returned it to Dell for a refund. Never heard what the cause was.
