    Do anyone know if the inspiron can handle 4 gb ram. Currently i am running 2 GB ram.

    The Inspiron 6400/E1505 can support a maximum of 4Gb of memory (2 x 2GB) PC5300
    Many users are seeing 3.2Gb of memory when 4GB of memory is installed. Sadly me system only sees 2Gb when 4Gb is installed.
    I may have an older copy of windows, so that may explain the problem.

    But yes if you buy a 2 x 2gb kit of memory of DDR2 sodimm PC5300, it will work in your laptop.
    Your system will hang for like 3 minutes after boot. The system is just updating itself. Dont worry
