Hi. I own a Dell Latitude 131L and I would like to upgrade the video card but I am not sure which video card I can upgrade to. Currently I have the ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 video card installed in this laptop. Would anyone know where I can find a list of video cards that are compatible with this laptop? I guess I can either replace this video card or install a second one in addition to this one but I don't know which video cards work with the Latitude 131L. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The ATI Radeon XPress 1150 is an integrated video processor that is soldered directly to the motherboard. As such it is not possible to upgrade it in any way.

The ATi radeon 1150 is an integrated chipset graphics card. It is physically soldered to the motherboard and it is not removable. Unfortunately you will not be able to upgrade the graphics card in this case.

Is that the case with ALL Radeon video cards? If so, I will remember to avoid ever buying another one in the future.

Some graphics cards are integrated like yours.
The higher end cards are usually on a removable cartridge. For example, my Dell E1505 came with four video option, ATi X1300, ATi X1400, nVidia geforce 7300, and the intel gma. The intel graphics card is integrated into the motherboard, but the other three options are all dedicated solutions, which can be removed and upgraded.
One thing to note is that the X1400 is not all that powerful of a card yet it is removable. On some laptops the X1400 was built into the motherboard. Every laptop model is different, so in some cases you can upgrade your graphics card and in others you are plain out of luck

Too bad. I guess I am just out of luck. I guess part of the problem is most laptops just aren't easily upgradeable. All this got me thinking of just building my own desktop computer from scratch.

In terms of upgrade ability, laptops really are very limited so to speak.. Sorry for the disappointing news my friend.
