Hi, how picky exactly is the D610 when it comes to memory upgrades? Do I really need to get the ones that Kingston or Crucial recommend specifically for the D610 or can i get their ValueRAM? it's just so much cheaper to get value ram...

Try it out. Worst that will happen is it won't work.

haha well i just don't wanna go through the trouble of having to return it if it doesn't work :p  because I see some nice prices at TigerDirect.ca...so I wanted to see if anyone has had experience with memory upgrades with D610 using RAM other than the ones bought at the Dell website.

I bought a 1GB stick of 'Spectek' DDR2-533 from MilestonePC (formerly CanadaSys) that worked perfectly fine in both my Z70Va and gf's D610. Memtest'ed it for over 12 hours in the D610 without any errors and no issues as yet under normal usage.
