I recently purchased Intel 6300 mini PCIe card. Will it work with my Dell Latitude D630?

You might need an adapter to make it full size, but it's compatible.

    that's what he means

Mini Pci-e express half to full size card adapter | eBay

it extends the half size wifi cards to full size, as your laptop uses full size card and the one you got is half size, so you cant hold it with bolts without adapter.

(of course you could use some gum but it's not recommended, lol)

aside from the mounting issues, would your BIOS allow for different wifi card? I know most manufacturers whitelist cards so you're usually limited with the choice of wifi card, eventhough it can fit fine in the slot.

I believe you could configure the D630 with an Intel 4965, so I doubt Dell black listed Intel cards.

Dell Business models do not black or white list wireless cards. Pretty much if it's WiFi, mPCIe, and you can find drivers, it'll work.

I thought the D630 only had 2 antennae. Looks like the 6300 has 3. I think that is why I went with a 6200 and the aforementioned half-sixed adapter.... Oh and as other have also said Dell doesn't whitelist adapters (another reason I really like Dell laptops).
