    Dell Latitude DVD Drives

    im thinking about buying a second hand Dell latitude D630 (ex buisness closing down sale) but they have one problem they have no DVD/CD drive only a modular battery in the bay.

    i was wondering which DVD drives are compatible or if i need to buy a specialist dell part ????

    could anyone help me with this issue ????

    You need a modular optical drive. They are compatible with lost of laptops.
    The same optical drives are used on:
    Inspiron series (300M, 500M, 510M, 600M, 8500, 8600, 9100), Latitude series (D400, D410, D420, D430, D500, D505, D510, D520, D530, D600, D610, D620, D630, D800, D810, D820, D830, X300), Precision series (M20, M60, M65, M70, M90)

    So you have a very good chance of getting one.

    Its pretty expensive on that site
    you can probably find it cheaper on ebay
    search D630 optical drive.
    and you can search any of those laptops mentioned + optical drive in ebay
