Can you take out the processor in the m1530 in order to put in a more powerful one, or is it integrated to the motherboard? Also, would the standard m1530 motherboard support a quad-core processor by any chance? I know quad cores are just starting to come out for laptops, but you never know :D

It is removable and therefore upgradable. The processor chipset socket is currently socket P, but the future Quad mobile processors may or may not be Socket P, so you have to wait. There has been discussion that the 1st generation mobile Quads will be Socket P but will have a new Socket right afterwards.

You can upgrade to (with the latest BIOS of course):

    Intel Core 2 Duo:

    t5550
    t5750
    t7100
    t7250
    t8100
    t7300
    t8300
    t7500
    t7700
    t9300
    t7800
    t9500

and might be able to upgrade to:

    x7800
    x7900
    x9000

All are Socket P, Santa Rosa compatible processors.
