    I purchased Dell M1530 with 1 GB memory.
    XPS M1530, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8300 (2.4GHz/800MHzFSB, 3M L2 Cache Tuxedo Black Casing XPS M15301GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm
    for XPS M1530 15.4 inch Wide Screen WXGA+ TrueLife LCD with 2.0 MO Camera for XPS M1530 Camera Software XPS M1530 2.0MP
    256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive for XPS M1530 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, English
    Media Direct 3.3

    I purchased from Dell 2 GB module :DDR2 200-pin SODIMM
    256x64 PC2-5300 / 667 MH Non-ECC, SODIMM
    My question is can I added the 2 GB to the original 1 GB come with laptop or Do I have to buy other 2 GB memory for the memory to work in pairs? Or it is OK no loses in performance with one 1GB and second 2GB installed?

    It will work fine with different memory pairs. But your laptop might have 512x2 RAM modules.

    It does have 2 dimm. Says right there in the description. So ur gonna have a 2gb + 512mb

    And if you ever need to buy RAM again you can get much cheaper if you buy other place than DeLL.
