Today i opened the Dell site after a week or so..
straightly to the Studio 15 page....

The last laptop they mentioned was....
    879$..... ( 459 $ discounts.!!! )

    I was quite surprised... because it was earlier 899 $.... ( 399 $ discount..! )

The main changes they have done are....

    1) Basic color change was absolutely free.... ( !!!!!! )

    2) Video card -
    Previously - ATI - 4570 - 512MB
    Now - ATI - 545v ( ???? )
    & ATI - 5470 - 1GB worth 40$ upgrade..

    so.....
    My questions are......

1 ) how the price have gone down ( from seeing the discounts... ) ????

2 ) what is this ATI - 545v graphics card?????
Memory they have not mentioned on the Dell site...
neither ATI shows ANY info about this card...

    3 ) Is this same as 5450 - 512 MB / 1 GB....?????

    4 ) How about going to 5470 - 1 GB.....
I play games..... but not much....... just Racing games... esp. NFS series...
    Not a Game Freak.......
    But Ya....Indeed a Net freak..!!
    so... what u suggest....???? 40$ - 5470 ( 1 GB )...???

Any thing u want to contribute..??
    Do reply/.......

Google/ATI/Dell doesn't say anything about the 545v.. I have no idea what card that is. I'm pretty sure they haven't stopped manufacturing the 4570 because i currently have a replacement laptop being built with the 4570. All i can think of that maybe its a typo? Highly unlikely but everyone makes mistakes. I would hold off before more is said about that certain card because you don't know the memory range. Have you tried to contact dell through sales chat and ask them the specs on that card? As for the memory, 512mb would do perfectly fine for what you play (but hey who doesn't like to go a little higher?) 1gb would be good also :)

You might want to refresh your order status page w/Dell. I placed an order for a machine with the 4570 last week, and over the weekend my build specs changed to show the mysterious 545v instead. Your mileage may vary...
