I have switched my motherboard due to a fried GPU and upgraded to the Y503R motherboard with the 1GB ATI 4670. I already have the correct heatsink and y503r motherboard installed and am wondering what steps I need to take for bios etc. to make sure that I can start up Windows without any issues. I've tried turning it on and pressing F2 to reach the bios screen, but the screen won't turn on and I get a blinking mute light with the volume lights steady. This lasts for about 15 seconds before the fan turns on and then the system shuts off.

    Any advice?

You have the RAM installed when you test?

I've tried turning on with both sticks in, one stick in, and both sticks out and get the same result with the lights each time.

Did you try both single sticks in both slots, one at a time?

I'm pretty sure I did but I'll run through each again when I get back home later today just to make sure. I do know that the ram sticks are both good bc I've been using them with my other motherboard with no issues.

For some reason the processor was not locking fully so I had to remove it, re-seat it, and re-lock it. Everything's working great now.

    Thanks for the help.
