That memory will work in your system, but ADATA is not the best

I would buy two of these cards:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145172

They will save you even more money, and Corsair makes better, more compatible memory cards.

As far as a 7200rpm harddrive goes, the fastest harddrive is the Hitachi 7K200.
The 7K200 is also the same speed as the Samsung 320Gb 5400RPM harddrives.
If you have a 250Gb 5400rpm drive in your notebook now, you will barely notice a speed increase by buying a faster harddrive.
Data Density works just as good as higher spindle speeds

Vista 32bit will recognize 3.25Gb of memory, which will be much more than 2Gb of memory.
Many Vista users say that the third Gb of memory makes a big performance increase.

Please do not buy that 80Gb 7200rpm drive, it will slow down your system more than your current harddrive.

Problem is...I ordered the worst HD they had with it. Which was a 80GB 5400 RPM. Isn't that a little to small?

Well bmwm if you already ordered I suggest spending $150 on a 320GB HDD (or large 7200 if you prefer) at NewEgg. Then using the 80GB 5400 (not good, small and slow) as an external.

Since you have a slow 5400rpm drive, I recommend getting the Samsung or WD 320Gb laptop harddrives, they will give you about a 2.5x performance boost on read/write cycles, which will definitely speed things up.

    Here are the options:
    ($165 for 200GB 7200rpm Hitachi)
    http://http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145160

    ($140 for the 320Gb 5400rpm Samsung)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152111

    ($150 for 320Gb 5400rpm WD)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136197

The 320Gb 5400rpm drives are identical in speed with the 200Gb 7200rpm drive, so its really up to you which one you want to buy.

That 320GB looks interesting. So it's the same speed as that 7200 RPM?

Would there be any benefit to get 800mhz memory for a vostro 1700? The processor i bought runs at 800mhz fsb.

    Nooooo. 5400RPM =/= 7200RPM hehe... Don't mind me :)
Get the 200Gb, 7200RPM drive... I wish i had one of those personally.

The MoBo Chipset wont handle 800mhz ram sorry :-\

It can handle the ram (800MHz ram) but will run at 667MHz. If you need the space get the 320gb drive.

Well actually, the 320GB's platter density could cancel out the added bandwitch (but not access time) of the 200GB's extra spins per minute.
