I thought I saw something on this forum regarding this but I could not find it in my search, so I will ask again I guess. Is the processor on the Dell X1 upgradeable? I think I read that the processor was soldered on but I've seen the motherboard with a processor on it and it looks like it is indeed removable? If it is upgradeable what processor can I put in it?

You cannot do it. Most notebooks are pin sockets, like the removable ones you saw.

But the X1, as with most ultra portables, use soldered low voltage processors.

If you're looking for a performance boost the best place to look is probably the hard drive. The X1 I believe use a slow 4200RPM 1.8" drive. Your upgrade path is limited. Dell does offer some Toshiba 1.8" 5400RPM drives, but I've no idea whether they'll work in the X1 and they're more expensive per GB than regular drives. You other option is a SSD. Those are even more expensive and have less space, but offer excellent performance.
