There might been threads like this but I could not find any specific to what I wanted to know.
I want to know if there is a possibility to get a LED display working on the Dell XPS M1210.
I have looked everywhere for converters to cables but to no avail, I know the Dell XPS M1210 uses a 20 pin CCFL plug but the main cable is specific to the laptop and exists for no other laptop, the usual OEM bollocks they come up with.
Now is there a way to actually cut the cable and connect a proper universal power cable?
The CCFL converter is for high power output but as I understand it the power cable itself is low power output so it should do fine without any converter as long as I have a proper connection to it, because I can convert the 20-pin CCFL to 20-pin LED but the power cable I cannot convert at all so the only option is to simply cut it off and solder on a universal one or something.
I also seen around and yes there exists 12.1 inch LED displays, the reason I want to do this is simply because I do not throw away stuff that works and with a LED display this laptop is the perfect travel companion I already use a 128GB mSSD in it and that gave me 30 - 50 minutes more battery life, the CCFL display is 7 years old now and its very dimm with colours washing out, this is the second display on it, CCFL costs the same as LED on eBay.
Does anyone ever done something like this with other laptops? Only the power cable is my issue that needs to be changed to an univeral or something that fits the popular converters.

I'd not recommend that. Especially due to the risk factors involved. Especially as you're very attached to that machine the way you are.
