When I configure any laptop from Dell, the options are usually like:

    Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Mini-Card
    Intel®3945 802.11a/g Mini-card
    Dell Wireless 1490 802.11a/g Mini-Card
    Dell Wireless 1505 Wireless-N Mini-card

I am not sure the difference. Can anyone explain them?

    THanks

I'd go with the Intel 3495. The Dell wireless cards are apparently unreliable, and the WLAN N band is still a long way away.

Only reason I'd choose the Dell N card, cause it will guarantee your laptop comes wired with 3 antennas. Which means you won't have to bother wiring it yourself if it comes with 2 antenna when you choose any of the other cards.

This does not mean if you go with any non-N card it won't have 3 antenna but there is no guarantee it will have 3 antennas.

3 antennas? What's the significance of having 3?
