Hey guys, is it possible to install an INTERNAL TV Tuner to a studio 1555 model?

I don't see an expansion slot to the side of my laptop (or anywhere on the laptop for that matter)....

really rather an internal card to an external USB one...

Not sure it is possible (probably not since i can't imagine where the card would "poke out" to allow for cables ect...)

Its just that i only have 2 USB ports on this laptop (fkn bull if u ask me...) and i really hate having to carry around an array of USB adaptops and USB splitter or w/e u call them..

    thanks in advanced!

There's no way to add an internal tuner card. You can use an ExpressCard TV tuner if you don't want to use USB. Also, you have 3 USB ports, not 2.

i SWEAR i can't find the expresscard slot on my dell... i can only see a USB port a external power plug and a SD/MMC -MS/Pro flash card slots.......

there's nothing that indicates a express card slot on the left hand side of the laptop either...

(ps i had NO idea u could use that esata port as a USB port also! lol xD)

ExpressCard slot is on the right side, above the card reader.

For the record, the Studio 1555 has three USB ports; two on the left side (one on top of the other, next to the Ethernet port) and one on the right below the optical drive slot. And the ExpressCard 32 slot is on the right towards the front, just above the card reader.

Upon some review, it seems that both of those might require 54mm Expresscard slots, while the specifications for a Dell Studio 15 lists only a 34mm Expresscard...

The first one might have some dimensions listed incorrectly, though, as it lists a 15 mm height, and from the picture, if that 15 mm height is across the input jack, the width should not be 55 mm...
