my HP a6000 desktop gives repeated two long beeps and a pause (1-1-pause) and will not start up. Monitor show VGA - no input signal & DVI - no input signal. HELP PLEASE. sorry if i post this in the wrong place but i really need help.

Post this at desktop review and call support, the number, order and length of the beeps means something and hp support knows what.

@ qhn ,, i was really hoping it wasn't something of that nature but thanks for your input. I replaced the ram & HD and still the same thing. but a strange thing is that when i disconnect the DVD drive , the beep stops but the pc still doesnt boots up. really dont know what to do now.

Try changing the BIOS boot order (internal hard drive first), or setting it so that the internal hard drive is the only boot device.

Its not booting up at all so i can't change the boot order.
