    I can't find a site that will tell me what AMD / Pentium Mobile processors are close if not better than my current desktop processor [AMD Athalon 64 3500+]. Can you help me out? I need to find a laptop with a processor that is as strong if not stronger than my current desktop processor. thanks for all your help!

    and I did try searching on this before I posted ...

    The Turion and the Athlon64's are more or less equivalent at the same clock speeds. The Turion might be a bit slower given the fact that it uses single channel memory vs. dual on the A64's.

    These should give you the general idea on the performance, but they might vary depending on the programs you are going to run.
