I'd like a desktop search that indexes the content of files in My Documents and an external hard drive. I have a Super Talent Duradrive SSD with no TRIM. I use Windows XP (which doesn't use TRIM anyways).

I disabled the Windows Search because I've read that the indexing isn't very good for SSDs. I have a Dell D430 with 2GB of RAM, which I really like.

    Question:

Should I re-enable Windows Search; use a product like X1, Google Search, or Copernic; or just try to be more organized.

You don't need to disable anything for SSD.

I re-enabled Windows search indexing then. Thanks.
