I have Acer Aspire 5749 (Core i3-2330M CPU) laptop and these days i want to replace my Western Digital 320GB Hard Drive with some SSD to speed up my system, the problem is...
I want to know if THE PORT ITSELF is 3Gbps or 6Gbps before getting SSD.
I am unable to determine if this laptop has SATA 6Gbps port or SATA 3Gbps port, the Hard Drive is 3Gbps (yes, i know).
Common Rule: Any SATA 6Gbps port become 3Gbps if attached Hard drive is 3Gbps, i.e. transfer speed depends upon hardware we attach,
"HW INFO" says that this system support 6Gbps speed so i want you to verify which SATA port this laptop has 3Gbps or 6Gbps, don't forget to check screenshot for more details below.

Crucial's upgrade adviser says "SATA 3 - 6Gb/s". Even if it's not, that shouldn't stop you form getting SDD, you'll greatly benefit off it. I'm on SATA II and I'm using Crucial M500, which is meant for SATA III, but still performs more than good. The 4K is close to what the drive can achieve on SATA III and this is precisely what counts in real world usage, unless you move tons of BD images or archives back and forth (that's where the sequential speed (the big numbers) counts).

It's probably going to be SATA II... However, get a SATA III SSD as those are pretty much the only ones available in the market... You can also put it to use in a new laptop when needed too..
Determine which SATA port in my Acer Laptop ?
