i've been looking to get 8GB of memory pretty cheaply recently, and Muhskin has finally delivered. There are two different types i'm looking at, but am unsure as to which would give me the best performance
They are DDR3 1333 and 1066
the timings for the 1333 is 9-9-9-24 and for the 1066 is 7-7-7-20
also, i have a Core 2 Duo T9900 which has a FSB of 1066
I know the general idea is higher speed, lower timing, but am unsure as to which is better when one module is better in one respect but worse in the other, and don't know if a higher speed than my processors FSB will make any difference. The price difference is $3 more for the 1066 module
1333 module: Newegg.com - Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory Model 996647 (i can buy this for $39.99 after a rebate and coupon code)
1066 module: Newegg.com - Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory Model 996644 (or i could get this one for $42.99 after the rebate and copon)
t9900 processor: IntelĀ® Core?2 Duo Processor T9900 (6M Cache, 3.06 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)with SPEC Code(s)SLGEE, SLGKH

Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
first thing is to know what memory type you use
-
204 pin ddr 3 - the same type as the modules i linked
-
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
then get whichever is cheaper
-
1333 9-9-9-24 will give the same performance as 1066 7-7-7-20.
I would go for the 1066 option because the intel spec sheet for T9900 shows 1066 FSB. The difference is only 3$ anyway -
Thanks for the info.

I installed this in a laptop that only supports 4Gb of RAM and it sees 8Gb and it runs fine. The price is okay. I tried cheaper memory chips before in this laptop and they did not even boot up. This is the only choice I had if I wanted to run 8Gb of RAM.
