I am paying installment on this laptop...Its $1000 flat..Other stores here dont offer installment buying but I needed a computer badly so I took the offer.

I dont have credit cards and I can hardly find any online store that ships to my location. SAIPAN, part of the NOrthern Mariana Islands.

    The specifications are:
Intel Centrino Duo (Core Duo 1.73ghz)
    1.5gb DDR2 667mhz RAM (4096max)
15.4 inch widescreen 1280x800 max resu.
    160gb HD
    DVD Multi R/RW +
    Intel 945gm express chipset w/ 950 Graphics Accelerator ( only 128 mb) ;(
    4usb slots
    5-1 Card Reader
    Wifi ABG
    rj45 Lan Connection

    just some input/output stuff..no biggie...

Here on the island, I did my study and the prices are much higher than online prices or at the states.

I could have waited for around 5months to order online but i needed one right away. I just started working so Dont have cash yet and with the 5months installment I got it on the same day.

Again prices in the stores here are usually a couple of hundred bucks more than the original price online...

Am I getting what my money is worth??...Considering my situation and online shopping out of the picture...

What currency is it in? If it is USD, then you got a good deal, even in the states. What is the brand of computer?

It's all relative to where you are. Just enjoy it and don't look back.

    its in US dollar ...
thats the thing..i always look back...Funny thing is that I do enjoy it..I like it but there is always something better out there..and for the same price .. thats why i always question my decision on getting it for that price.

are you sure this is okay? I just hope it could play FIFA08 when it comes out..it handles FIFA07 well at high detail...LOL...just having that game is enough for me and being able to run it.

The GMA950 is a very weak graphics chipset, not meant for gaming, so it may struggle a bit.

For the specs you got, it's barely higher than what you'd pay for the same kind of machine here on the mainland. I think you should be happy with your purchase :)

By the way its a Toshiba Satellite A100 series

    Struggle...oh man!! @_@

Do the specs of new games really jump that high compared to the later version of it? Like sports games for this matter..

Almost every game out today will not run well on the GMA cards.

Umm...Ive been playing FIFA07 on the notebook and it does well. I have it on 1024x768 which is max for the game and high detail.
The only difference Ive noticied compared to my desktop back at home:

    Dual Core 2.66mhz 2mb Cache
    512mb Ram
    FX5200 128/128

Is that on replays using desktop @ high detail there is a fog effect. That doesnt show on the notebook. And also the ball on the notebook seems a bit brighter hehe (the white balls). Maybe coz it doesnt support H&L Transformation. But everyhing is good .gameplay wise..same as using fx5200
